As a whole, I would change the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It is unsuccessful for Blacks because of the color of their skin. The 14th Amendment exercises the right to life, liberty, and property. At the time of this amendment being made, Blacks were considered property because of the Dred Scott v. Sanford court ruling. Therefore, while it may be successful for Whites, Blacks are still mistreated and this amendment is used as a piece of support for why Blacks are not entitled to a comfortable and just life. Therefore, I would change the 14th Amendment’s interpretation and wording, and I wouldn’t necessarily deem it successful in a Black person’s eyes.
